Observe a Year of Peace and Nonviolence | Sisters of St. Joseph

On January 1, Pope Francis delivered a message in observance of the 50th Annual World Day of Peace. The Pope’s message called on the global church, government leaders, and all people of good will to engage the theme of Non-Violence: A Style of Politics for Peace.

Inspired by this challenge from Pope Francis, we are planning to observe a Year of Peace and Nonviolence in our Congregation, starting with 100 days of Prayer.

We are grateful to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange for developing this resource, which offers short daily prayers during the first 100 days of the new administration. The content encourages unity and reconciliation and offers support to people who may be vulnerable to policy changes.

In order to remain flexible and have the ability to adjust to what may actually be happening, the 100 Days of Prayer will be shared in two-week installments. View the first edition, covering Jan. 20-31.

We invite you to stay tuned for additional ways that you can be an “artisan of peace” with us this year.
